COLOR AND LIGHT SPACE IN LUCERNE

To demonstrate and study the spatial interaction of light and color the department of interior architecture at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts runs a dedicated workshop room. Equipped with various types of light sources and a rich collection of painted samples the workspace is suitable for design work as well as for perception studies.

LIGHTING LABORATORY IN GRAZ

The Institute of Spatial Design has consistently developed a thematic focus on the use of light in architecture since 1998. The specific research interests are perception of architectural spaces and the potential of light to transform perceived space. The Lighting Laboratory at the Graz University of Technology is a 600m³ space optimally equipped for lighting studies in real scale.

The equipment available in the Lighting  Laboratory consists of lighting equipment and panels to construct test scenarios. The lighting equipment consists of theatre spotlights from 750W to 2kW. Additionally, there are linear LED- fixtures and a HMI discharge lamp driven 2500W spotlight available. The equipment to control the lights consists of dimmer and switch racks to control 24 channels and a DMX lighting control console. The construction equipment available includes 15 multifunctional panels of 2m by 1m size.
